Siam Park City

Siam Park City is a Theme Park in the nature of Disneyland with a water park but to a much smaller scale. I was really impressed, the staff were really friendly on the whole and kept a really good eye on our younger ones. If anyone is thinking of going, here are some hints. Info in Bangkok can be very hard to get as language is a real barrier especially over the telephone.

User Guide to Park

It is a long way about 35km from the city. Our taxi was 400bt each way and it seemed to help to ask for the meter even though they refused. One of them ran a meter and with tolls it came to about 350Bt. It is easiest to buy tickets at the gate. Adults were 700bt and Children 100cm-130cm 600bt. Anyone smaller is free but can only go in the water park. This price includes lunch which we found awesome. All you could eat, including drinks.

We arrived at the park at about 9.15am even though the water park opens at 10am and the theme park at 11am. It allowed us to buy tickets get changed and put on sun block before the crowds arrived. The crowds never arrived because it was a week day and not a school holiday. We could virtually go on any ride we wanted at any time. There is only one ride in the water park where users must be 150cm tall. It is the straight very high water slide. I went airborne twice and if I didn't put my hands behind my head as instructed I think I would have done some damage. The kids 120cm tall get to use the other two lower down. A child less than 130cm tall could be disappointed as all the extreme rides are out for them.

Over all the park is a little in need of care, but a terrific day out for a family. It ain't Disney World but if  your family is under 14 and you haven't done too many it is excellent. We were there for 8 hours and had to drag the kids away. The only issue we had was getting back. It took two hours in the taxi and the kids were getting scrappy.
